Emma Stinson

As both an individual and a counselor, I believe in the transformative process of counseling. The first step in the process is to find the right counselor and establish a trusting and mutually respectful relationship. That relationship is the foundation my work is built upon.

My approach to counseling is compassion-focused and holistic. I view each client as a whole person. This means taking into consideration their mind, body, spirit, resources, support system, readiness for change, experiences, and individual identity. I then utilize current and research-based therapy modalities while working with clients to achieve real change.

I have bachelor’s degrees in both psychology and business and a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I have completed practicum, internship, and post-graduate psychotherapy training. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Michigan, a Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional, Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, and Brainspotting Practitioner. I also continue to pursue continuing education in mind/body techniques in order to best serve my clients.

It takes strength to start this process and it is my privilege to walk alongside you. If you are ready to start the process, please feel free to reach out to me.
