People seek counseling for a variety of reasons including feeling worried, unfulfilled, angry, unhappy, or they could be looking for help to change an unwanted behavior. Counseling could also help with relationships, loss, going through a difficult season, or facing a difficult decision among many other reasons.

Clients may experience new insight into their situation, increased energy, a better understanding, a release of troubling emotions, a greater sense of wholeness, and a peace within themselves. Therapy is a process, and success comes from working together in a partnership with the therapist. Therapy may not always be comfortable or easy; when the uncomfortable, hard work happens then growth takes place.

Yes. All client-therapist conversations are private and confidential. Even making the appointment and coming to our office is confidential information. As licensed mental health professionals, we follow the professional ethical standards of the American Counseling Association (ACA), National Association of Social Workers (NASW), and American Psychological Association (APA). There are only a few rare exceptions to keeping confidentiality and those will be discussed at the first appointment in person and through paper form.

The first session is a time to talk about the concerns (s) that brought you to counseling. We will also discuss your background, personal history, and go through some brief paperwork. You can share on a level that feels comfortable for you.

We see clients both in-person and via telehealth.  We have Blueair purifiers in each room and sanitize surfaces daily and in between client sessions as needed. We are confident we are doing all we can to meet the needs of our clients while keeping everyone safe.  If you feel ill, we ask that you contact us right away to discuss whether you need to change your appointment to telehealth or reschedule.

Telehealth is a virtual way to continue your therapy when you are unable to come into the office. When you complete your intake with us, you will receive an email to create an account with TherapyApp. It is the platform we use to keep your account information and for virtual therapy sessions.

At the time of your session, you will login into your account and will see an option to enter the session. Your therapist will enter from their computer and you will be able to see and hear them.

BBTG is open M-Th 8am -8pm, Fridays 8am-4pm and some Saturdays. Each therapist sets their own schedule and will discuss a time that works best for you both. When scheduling your first appointment, we need to know your availability so you can be paired with a therapist who fits best with your schedule.
