As a Limited Licensed Professional Counselor (LLPC), I believe my role is to assist you in
reaching any goals that you may have for yourself by providing nonjudgmental support and help to facilitate your journey, whatever form it may take. I strive to empower you and assist you in expanding healthy awareness, rather than to give you advice. I am a graduate of Western Michigan University, where I earned my Master’s in Counseling Education. I focused my studies on person centered, cognitive behavioral, and dialectical behavioral approaches, in order to address anxiety, depression, and anger issues. I am currently working towards my Phase 2 completion of Brainspotting and have an interest to start the process of working towards my CAADC (Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor) in the near future.

My counseling work has primarily focused on populations ranging from adolescents to adults
with concerns related to anxiety, depression, anger management, and self-esteem. Issues thatclients address in counseling include personal, emotional, professional, and relationship issues. My primary approach to counseling is an integration of cognitive behavioral therapies, person-centered, and mindfulness-based techniques. This integrative counseling approach strives to develop and maintain a genuine and empathic relationship with my clients, provide mindful awareness to balance the rational with the emotional mind, and create a collaborative effort at identifying what changes a client can make to minimize emotional and behavioral disturbances while encouraging the client that they are the master of their selves.

I have personally utilized counseling many times over my life; I understand the challenge of facing difficulties through-out our lives and the desire to have change but might feel directionless on what change may look like or even how to start the process of change itself. Change can be difficult and intimidating at times; however, I strive to provide the highest quality of counseling in order to create an opportunity for my clients to empower themselves and create the change they would like to see in their daily lives.
